Now in it’s fourth year, the annual Eat Drink Design Awards shortlist has been released this week. Fast becoming one of the industry’s most celebrated awards, Eat Drink Design recognises excellence in the design of hospitality premises of all scales and types, retail environments for the sale of food and beverages and visual identities for both
With 45 nominations in the shortlist of 88 projects, Victoria has once again been recognised as an industry leader.
This year the awards saw a record-breaking 176 entries across the six categories, an increase of 14% on the previous year.
The Eat Drink Design Awards is supported by notable industry ambassadors who champion the symbiotic relationship between hospitality and design. In recognition of ongoing support, Michael Harden has appointed an ambassador of the Eat Drink Design Awards, alongside the founding ambassadors Christine Manfield and Jill Dupleix.
The 2015 jury brings together some of the leading practitioners in the Australasian design and hospitality scene. Jurors are appointed on the basis of their practical expertise, professional standing and high profile. The jurors for 2015 are:
- Karen Martini (chef, TV personality and restaurateur)
- Pascale Gomes-McNabb, architect, Pascale Gomes-McNabb Design
- Stephen Todd, design editor, Australian Financial Review
- Stuart Krelle, interior designer, Luchetti Krelle
- Cameron Bruhn, editorial director, Architecture Media
There is a total prize pool of $9,000, with each individual award category attracting a cash prize. The annual program announces a single venue into the Hall of Fame, recognising the longevity and excellence in an industry often characterized by transience.
A unique, themed event, the Eat Drink Design Awards celebration will take place in Melbourne on Tuesday 17 November 2015.
